UPDATE: This class is currently full! Keep an eye on our website for future offerings.

Fixing Flats for LGBTQIA+ Folks and Women

When & Where: Saturday, February 1, 10 AM – Noon, at the Sac Bike Kitchen

Cost: FREE!

Space is limited so RSVP to classes@sacbikekitchen.org. Enrollment is limited to LGBTQIA+ and women.

This entry-level, hands-on class will teach you:

  • Tips for preventing flats and figuring out why they happened

  • How to fix a flat tire on the road (and at home or the SBK)

  • What to carry on your bike so that you can avoid getting stranded

  • Safety tips for fixing flats on the road

If you have your own bike, we encourage you to bring it, but you may also practice on one of our shop bikes. NO experience is necessary – this class is specifically for beginners! To ensure this class is a safe and empowering space, enrollment is limited to LGBTQIA+ and women.

  • The purpose of all SBK classes is to teach you how to perform bicycle repairs. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible for any damage your bike may incur during the class nor can we guarantee that you will have a functioning bike at the end of the class, especially if your bike was not functioning properly prior to the class.

  • We have experience working with a variety of bicycles, but not all of them! If you surprise us with an exotic machine we’ve never seen before, we’ll be happy to take a look at it and may even want to take some pictures, but we can’t guarantee we’ll know what’s best for it mechanically.
