As a non-profit group strongly focused on community service, we often receive requests for support from individuals or community groups with interesting ideas or projects to serve the bicycling community. In order to give these requests a fair consideration and decide what assistance we can provide while continuing to serve our Mission and our patrons, please e-mail the following information to i...@sacbikekitchen.org:
- A brief description of you or your Organization. Helpful details include your mission statement, the relevance of your mission to bicycles and transportation, your non-profit status (if applicable), and information about the type of work/services you already provide.
- The type of support you are requesting of SBK. Examples include:
- A detailed picture of what SBK’s involvement would be for your proposed event or activity. If possible, include the following information:
-
- The purpose of the event or activity (Outreach, fundraising, recruitment, etc.)
- The number of expected attendees
- The nature of work expected of SBK volunteers
- Whether you plan to invite newspaper, internet or broadcast media
- Whether you plan to serve alcoholic beverages
- Whether you be required by the city to provide portable restrooms or security guards
- The proposed date and time of event, particularly if you are requesting to use our space
- A brief description of how you intend to advertise this event. A flyer or a copy of a letter or email you plan to distribute would work well for this.
The more information you provide, the easier it will be for we here at SBK to determine if we’re a good fit for your plans or if another organization might be better able to help you. The more information you provide, the more easily we might be able to negotiate any details so that everyone wins.
Thank you for your interest in partnering with SBK!

It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2012 Passport to Summer and Your Future Information Fair. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Oak Park Community Center in Sacramento, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Fair will also include information on current legislation and new laws for 2012.
The Passport to Summer and Your Future Information Fair will provide one-stop shopping for various programs in the Sacramento area. This year’s event will reflect the challenges our community is facing during these tough economic times. We will still showcase organizations offering information on summer, afterschool, and enrichment programs. The Fair will also offer information on education, vocational training, internship and apprenticeship opportunities, and family resources for both youth and adults alike.
Inclement weather has often been a barrier to having a successful event. We have decided to move the Fair indoors and bring it to the Oak Park Community Center. We want to make sure as many people as possible from the Sacramento region can easily access the valuable information provided in a friendly setting.
Please help to keep this community tradition alive by reserving a table, free of charge, for your organization at the 2012 Passport to Summer and Your Future Information Fair. In addition to showcasing your information to the community, you will be offering important resources that residents need.
I sincerely hope you will join me and agree to have a booth at this year’s event. I believe Passport to Summer and Your Future is an important resource to our community. If you have any questions, please contact my staff, Diana Cowan or Lori Catalano, at 916-651-1529. They will be happy to send you the participation form and waiver.
